Paratech Paragliding run International licence conversions on demand so simply contact us to arrange a suitable start date.

To qualify for the conversion you must have a current international licence and be able to provide documented evidence before any booking is accepted and this will also be submitted to the Sports Aviation Federation of Australia (SAFA) to help fast track your application for the equivalent Australian paragliding licence.

The conversion includes any equipment if required, transport, theory and direct radio supervision by one or more of our instructors. Applicants must also pass the equivalent SAFA theory examination for the level of licence required.

The minimum requirements for a PG2 pilot in Australia is 30 logged flights, 3 x soaring flights and 3 different launch locations so this must be reflected in any applicants previous international experience before a PG2 rating can be issued.

You will be charged at the day rate of $295.00 per day or $195.00 per half day (4hr minimum charge) and only when the Chief Flight Instructor is satisfied will you be signed off for the equivalent Australian licence.

The Australian licence will not be issued until the Sports Aviation Federation of Australia (SAFA) has received full payment from you for the full membership and the completed licence application form signed by the CFI.

Total price includes GST but does not include the Canungra Hang Gliding Club student fee ($20) and the SAFA full membership fee required for the issue of the licence.
